Abstract

Nurofikoh, 2020. The Difference of Word Bricks Game and Lecturing Strategy to Teach Vocabulary (An Experimental Research of the Eighth Graders of MTs YASPI Pakis Magelang in the Academic Year 2019/2020. A graduating paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State institute for Islamic Studies Salatiga. Counselor: Heru Saputra, M.A Keywords: Vocabulary; Word Bricks; Game; effectiveness. The aims of this research were: 1. To find out the difference of students’ vocabulary mastery taught by Word Bricks Game and Lecturing strategy, and 2. To find out the significant difference of students’ vocabulary mastery taught by Word Bricks Game and Lecturing strategy. This was a quantitative research approach with quasi Word Bricks Game method. The data collection method was multiple choice test. The collected data was analyzed statistically by using SPSS 16.0. The findings of this research were: 1. There was no difference between experimental and control groups before Word Bricks Game and Lecturing Strategies were applied because MX?MY (72.67 ? 73.87). In addition, there was no difference between experimental group and control group after Word Bricks Game and Lecturing Strategies were applied because MX?MY (89.07? 87.20).; 2. There was no significant difference between experimental group and control group before Word Bricks Game and Lecturing Strategies were applied because to < tt (0.625<2.04). Similarly, there was no significant difference between Word Bricks Game and Lecturing Strategies were applied because to < tt (0.879<2.04).
