Abstract

ABSTRACT Siti Lailatul Mukarromah. 2021. The Analysis of the Implementation of Bilingual Program at SMP Islam Plus At Tohari Tuntang. A Graduating Paper Submitted to the Board of Examiners as a Partial Fulfillment of the Requirments for the Bachelor Degree of Sarjana Pendidikan (S.Pd). English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Hammam, M.Pd., Ph.D. Key Words: implementation, bilingual program The objective of this study are: to find out how are the implementations of bilingual program in the teaching-learning activities and to know what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of the bilingual program in the teaching-learning at SMP Islam Plus At Tohari Tuntang. This research used the descriptive qualitative methodology approach. The techniques of collecting data were taken through observation, interview and documentation. The subjects of this research are headmaster, curriculum staff, and bilingual teachers. The validity of data technique is triangulation by source and techniques. The result obtained from this study: 1) The implementation of the bilingual program at SMP Islam Plus At Tohari Tuntang is as an additional learning subject that is applied in the classroom in the form of language habituation, in which the language habituation team or teaching teacher provides English material outside of normal learning hours which is held every Monday to Thursday. This language habituation is held to support the English bilingual program, which is one of the flagship programs at SMP Islam Plus At Tohari. 2) The supporting factors for the implementation of the bilingual program at SMP Islam Plus At Tohari Tuntang are provision of adequate facilities and infrastructure, bilingual is the excellent program. While the inhibiting factors for the implementation of the bilingual program are the condition of the school environment is less supportive, lack of linguistic competence.
