Abstract

Arti, Naumi Kisto. 2021. An Error Analysis Of Noun Phrase In Students’Writing Skills In Descriptive Texts (A Case Study The Tenth grade Students of SMK N 1 Wonosegoro in the Academic year 2019/2020). A Graduating Paper, English Education Department, Teacher Training, and Education Faculty, State Institude For Islamic Studies Salatiga. Counselor: Mr. Hanung Triyoko, S.S., M.,Hum., M.Ed. The objectives of the study are to find out the errors and the cause of noun phrase errors found in the descriptive text written by the tenth grade of SMK N 1 Wonosegoro in the academic year 2019/2020. The method of research was qualitative research especially descriptive research. The technique of collecting data was written test to find out the errors of the noun phrase in descriptive texts, 20 students joined the test. The writer used an instrument that consists of an outline in writing a descriptive text. the data being described using the error classification from Dulay, et al. That include omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. The writer found that there were researchers found that there were 50 mistakes made by students. The researcher has classified the errors and grouped into four types of errors. There are error of omission, error of addition, error of misformation, and error of misordering. The teacher can help students by providing material about noun phrases correctly, and trying to give tests to make it easier for students to understand more deeply, so that the possibility of errors in writing noun phrases can be reduced, and focusing on grammar and verb, learning tenses and language futures.
