Keywords: Pre-Service and In-Service Teacher’s Perspectives, Teacher Profesionalism Education (PPG), Narrative Inquiry Teacher Professional Education (PPG) is a study program after the S1/D IV program both educational and non-educational graduates who have the talent and interest to become a professional teacher and can master the competence of teachers in full so as to obtain a certificate of professional educator. The purpose of this research is to explore the perception of pre-service teachers and in-service teachers towards teacher professional education (PPG) programs for the development of teacher professions in Indonesia. This research uses qualitative research method and uses narrative inquiry research design with semi-structured interview technique. The subjects of the study were five pre-service teachers and five in-service teachers who had different educational backgrounds, experiences and interests. The results of this study were obtained that the implementation of teacher professional programs (PPG) is very good to improve the competence of teachers in order to become professional educators. Professional education programs of teachers, prospective teachers will be given training to deepen the competencies that must be possessed by a teacher, among others, the development of learning tools such as pre-test and post-test, syllabus, lesson plan (RPP), learning media, learning methods, proper evaluation. After graduation they will get a professional educator certificate. However, the implementation of PPG program in Indonesia has not been fully evenly distributed in various regions in Indonesia and the cost of implementation is also considered still expensive.
