Abstract

The objectives of the research were to find out the profile of students’ achievement in writing skills before and after using the Webquest Media and to measure the effectiveness of Webquest Media in enhancing students’ ability in writing the descriptive text at the seventh-grade students of MTs Manbaus Sa’diyah Bandungan in the academic year 2020/2021. This research was pre-experimental research. The techniques of collecting data were tests and documentation. There were two kinds of test which were used, those were pre-test and post-test. The subject of this research was one class of seventh-grade students at MTs Manbaus Sa’diyah Bandungan. It involved 12 students. The data were tested using the t-test formula by comparing the mean score of pre-test and post-test. The significance level was settled up 5%. The results of the research showed that there is a significant difference between mean scores of pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test before treatment is 57,9 and the mean score of post-test is 84,7. Then, the result of the t-test with df = 11, the value of the table = 1.796. Thus, the value ofthe t-test is higher than the variable (7.06 >1.796). The researcher concluded that using Webquest media could enhance students’ writing skills in descriptive text.
