Abstract

This study is aimed 1. To determine the correlation between reward and English learning achievement for students of SMP Al-Azhar 18 Salatiga, 2. To determine the correlation between self efficacy and English learning achievement of SMP Al-Azhar 18 students in Salatiga, 3. To determine the correlation between reward and self-efficacy with learning achievement in English for students of SMP Al-Azhar 18 in Salatiga. Then, quantitative correlational model is used in this research. The sample in this study is 50 students (7th grade) of SMP Al-Azhar 18 Salatiga. Random sample is used while students were taking English lessons. Therefore, the reward scale and the self-efficacy scale are used in the data collection technique, while data on English learning achievement are obtained from the documentation. The researcher uses the multiple regression analysis by using SPSS version 20.0 for Windows. The findings revealed a positive and significant relationship between reward and self-efficacy and English learning achievement in grade VII students at SMP Al-Azhar 18 Salatiga (R = 0, 403, F = 4.554, p = 0.016 < 0.05, and R2=0.162).
