Abstract

Wachid I.M. 2021. An Analysis of Pronunciation Learning Strategies(A Descriptive Quantitative Study in Pronunciation Learning Strategies Used by of The Second Grade Students of MTs Miftahul Huda Pabelan in Their Pronunciation Learning Process During Covid 19 Pandemic in The Academic Year of 2020/2021). A Graduating Paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies Salatiga. Counselor: Noor Malihah, Ph.D. Pronunciation refers to the production of sounds that we use to make a meaning. The student should have good pronunciation for the basic skill of language. In the process the students find some strategies that match for each of them. The purpose of this research to find their strategies and which one become most frequent used and least frequent. To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher use the questionnaire from Narmeen (2014) that adopted from Eckstein. The questionnaire includes 20 items which are classified by depending on identified learning strategies and are divided according to four categories related to Kolb's learning cycle as cited in (Eckstein, 2007:32) they are: input/ practice, noticing/feedback, hypothesis forming, and hypothesis testing. The researcher found that The highest weighted score gained by the item No. 13 (3.85) followed by No. 19 (3.45), 18 (3.4), 17 (3.05), 10 (3). The least one gained by item No. 7 with weighted score 1.65, followed by Item No. 9 (2.05), 8 (2.1), 11 (2.2), 12 (2.25). it seems Noticing/ feedback dominating the others by gaining the most weighted score and input/practice are inferior because gaining the least score Keywords: Pronunciation, Learning Strategies
