Abstract

Winastuti, Puput Restu. 2021. Students’ Perception and Motivation in Doing English Assignment through Google Form (A Descriptive Study at SMP Islam Al Azhar 18 Salatiga in the Academic Year 2021/2022). A Graduating Paper. Englih Education Department. Teacher Training and Educator Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies Salatiga. Conselor: Miftachudin, M.A. The aim of this research is to find out the students’ perception and motivation in doing Englsih assignment through Google Form at SMP Islam Al Azhar 18 Salatiga in the Academic Year 2021/2022. The methodology of research was descriptive research by using quantitative-qualitative techniques to collect data. Techniques to collecting data were through questionnaire and interview, with 53 participants of ninth grade at SMP Islam AL Azhar 18 Salatiga. The result of this study showed that (1) Students’ Perception in Doing English Assignment through Google Form: (a) the appearance of the Google Form is simple and does not interfere with the see when doing assignments. (b) Operating Google Form is easy because it can only be scrolled and clicked by phone. (c) Eeasy to understand the questions because the questions given in the form of multiple choices. (d) Only takes a short time of around one hour to do English assignment through Google Form. (e) The use of Google Form is effective and helpful during online classes. (2) Students’ Motivation in Doing English Assignment through Google Form: (a) Students have high initiatives in themselves to understand the material first before doing assignments. (b) Students have high awareness of their respinsibilities to collect tasks on time. (c) Students are more enthusiastic to do the next assignments because they happy to get good score. (d) Students are more maximal in learning and try to give the best of their on the next assignments because competing gets the best results. (e) Students are more active in learning and enthusiastic to do the next assignments because they get praise.
