Abstract

The objectives of the study are to find out the significance or no correlation between students’ mastery on passive voice, conditional sentence toward translation skill of the fifth semester of English Education department of IAIN Salatiga in the academic year of 2015/2016. The methodology of research was quantitative research. The techniques of collecting data was test. To find out the significant or no correlation between students’ mastery on passive voice, conditional sentence toward translation skill researcher used passive voice, conditional sentence and translation test to know how score the students’ mastery on passive voice, conditional sentence and their translation skill. The researcher finds that there is very weak correlation between students’ mastery on passive voice, conditional sentence toward translation skill. It can be described by the level of significance 5% (0.05) which is 0.447. It proven that "r" _"count" <"r" _"table " because "r" _"count" is 0.192 while "r" _"table " is 0.447. The correlation between students’ mastery on passive voice, conditional sentence toward translation skillis very weak correlation because "r" _"count" <"r" _"table " . The "r" _"count" is 0.192 and the "r" _"table " is 0.447 so the correlation between students’ mastery on passive voice and conditional sentence toward translation skill is no significant. It could be seen by the level of significant 5% (0.05) which is 0.447. It meant that there is very weak correlation between students’ mastery on passive voice, conditional sentence toward translation skill. Because of the "r" _"count" <〖" r" 〗_"table " so H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected. It meant that there is no significant correlation between students’ mastery on passive voice and conditional sentence toward translation skill.
