Abstract

This study is aimed to find out the improvement of the students’ writing skills of recount text of the second grade students of MTs Al UswahBergas in the Academic Year of 2015/2016 through clustering technique. Besides that, it is also to describe the implementation of clustering technique in teaching writing of recount text at the second grade students of MTs Al UswahBergas in the Academic Year of 2015/2016. The number of the students in this research was 36 students. In completing this research the researcher used the observation, documentation, and written test as the instrument of collecting the data.By conducting classroom action research, it was found out that the implementation of clustering technique improved students’ ability in writing recount text. It is proved by the data that were derived from this study. There were found 25.65% point were of improvement of the students mean score; 20.59% point were derived from post test 1 result and 5.06% point were derived from post test 2 after implementing clustering technique in teaching writing recount text. On the other hand, there were 88.88% students had passed the KKM (70); 30.55% were obtained from the first cycle and 88.88% were obtained from the second cycle. Based on the result, there were 32 from 36, It mean that 88.88% of the students passed the the KKM (70) exceed 80%. It can be concluded that this CAR was successful.
