Abstract

Counselor: Ruwandi, MA This research aims to find out the difference of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) and Jigsaw and also to find out the significant difference both of method to reading comprehension of report text. This is quasi experimental research. The researcher used non random sampling and selected two classes from the six classes. The population was the whole of XI classes. The sample was taken from AK 1 class (26 students) and AK 2 class (26 students). The researcher divided two groups namely experimental group class of (AK 2) and comparison group class of (AK 1). The data was collected from test and non test instrument. After researcher collecting the data and analyze the data. The result of the data showed that the mean of comparison group was 54.0 and the mean of experimental group was 51.76. And the result of t test both of group was 0.669 and lower than t table with 24 df 2.064. Next, the data of post test showed that mean of comparison group was 69.65 and the experimental group was 77.1. And the result of t test was (2.362) higher than t table (2.060) with df 25. So, it proved that ho was rejected and ha was accepted. Thus, there is significant difference reading comprehension of report text by Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition and jigsaw.
