Abstract

Subekti, Dwi Ayu. 2018. The Influence of English Writing Skill Toward Writing Achievement for the Third Semester Students Between Member and Non-Member In English Club of English Education Department of IAIN Salatiga in the Academic Year 2018/2019. A Graduating Paper, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, English Education Department, State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Sari Famularsih, M.A. Key Words: English Writing Skill, Writing Achievement The objectives of this research are to find out the profile of English writing skill toward writing achievement. The methodology of the research was quantitative research in correlative type. The technique of collecting the data is questionnaire and writing test. Questionnaire was used to depict the profile of writing skill and writing test was used to calculate the students’ writing achievement. The writer take 60 students as the respondent in this research. 30 students from member and 30 students from non-member in English club. The research data were analyze using Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) 16.0 program. Then, the correlation result between English writing habits toward grammar achievement low than rtable (0.254 < 0.592). Based on the table interpretation, the correlation coefficient r count = 0.254 was considered as very low correlation because it included in the fourth category (0.254 – 0.592). It means there is positive correlation between the two variables. In addition, the significance values is ρ = 0.00 < 0.05 which means that the correlation was not significant. And the coefficient determination is R Square = 0.016 and 0.020, which means don’t have significant effect of English writing skill toward writing achievement language because just 0,016 % and 0.020%. Based on the description above, it can be conclude that there is don’t have or very low significant influence between English writing skill toward writing achievement to the students member and non-member in English club.
