Abstract

WESTI ARLINI. 11306020. THE USE OF PUZZLE TO VOCABULARY MASTERY AT THE SECOND YEAR STUDENT OF MTS N 2 BANJARNEGARA IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2009/2010. Key words: Puzzle, Vocabulary. This study scrutinizes the use of puzzle to vocabulary mastery. The objectives of the study are to find out the profile of grade of the students’ mastery on vocabulary before and after using puzzle. The data was taken by using descriptive quantitative method. The research will conducted at MTsN 2 Banjarnegara for second year students in the academic Year 2009/2010. For the Indonesian students, the ability to mastery vocabulary are most important than others. Based on researcher’ experiences that less of students’ motivation and interest is that they feel English is very difficult. The writer chooses puzzle media in this research because there are varieties of practice and to heighten students’ interest. To know the profile of grade of the students’ mastery on vocabulary before and after using puzzle, the writer uses true-experimental research. She compares two different methods for two groups of students. The writer also gives pre-test before treatment and post-test after new treatment. The research shows that the use of puzzle can improve students’ mastery on vocabulary at MTs N 2 Banjarnegara.
