Abstract

Islamic based-education is one of the ways of improving human‟s morality to perform religious obligations as a servant of The Creator. In Islamic teachings, a human has to perform several commands, one of them is having prayer in a daily basis (Salat). This routine is the concrete form of worshipping God. This is a qualitative research which applies descriptive approach examining the application of scientific approach using pictures and demonstration method and its role to learning motivation improvement in Fiqih subject in MAN Salatiga, MAN Suruh Semarang Regency. The data collection method employs observation, documentation and non-structured interview. The data analysis was done by applying analytical inductive approach. The results shows that the application of scientific approach using pictures and demonstration method and its role to learning motivation improvement in Fiqih subject in MAN Salatiga and MAN Suruh Semarang Regency in 2014/2015 academic year runs well. Besides that, the principal and vice principal of academic matters are all supportive to teacher‟s creativity in attempt to improve students‟ learning motivation. The application of demonstration method in MAN Salatiga and MAN Suruh Semarang regency can be manifested through teaching and learning process in Fiqih subject especially about daily prayer (Salat). Students learning motivation in Fiqih subject especially about daily prayer tends to be high. The application of scientific approach using pictures and demonstration method in Fiqih subject contributes to students‟ high motivation in learning. It can be explained that the students are highly motivated and their motivation seems to increase.
