Abstract

The research is aimed to develop students’ writing skill. Main questions will be answered in this research are (1).How is the procedure of students’ recap strategy of teaching to improve students’ writing skill of seventh class of MTs Yasinta Salatiga in the academic year 2014/2015? (2).Can the use of students’ recap strategy of teaching to improve students’ writing skill of seventh class of MTs Yasinta Salatiga in the academic year 2014/2015? (3).How far is the use of students’ recap strategy to improve students’ writing skill of seventh class of MTs Yasinta Salatiga in the academic year 2014/2015? To answer the questions, this research uses Quantitative approach. This research used classroom action research method; it is conducted in 3 cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. From the result of the study which is conducted by the writer showed the finding shows that the t-test calculation from the result of pre- test in cycle I is 53,6, cycle II is 60,1 and cycle III is 65,9. While, score of posttest in cycle I is 68, cycle II 75,8 and cycle III is 78,4. It means that the use of recap strategy can improve the students’ writing skill.
