Abstract

0This study analyses and proves that implementation of Student Teams­Achievement Division (STAD) method can improve students' comprehension inreport text. The methodology of the research is a classroom action research byusing approach of quantitative research. To find out the improvement of students'comprehension in report text the researcher used test namely pre-test and post­test. The researcher used two meeting, the first meeting as the first cycle given apre-test, method and post-test, for the second meeting as second cycle, she givenpre-test, method and a post-test too. The study shows that the students involveactivity in teaching learning process; they are more confident and interested toanalyze report text than before. Based on the field note, it can be found that ST ADmethod has benefit to improve students analyzing in report text. The result of thisexperimental study is from the differences mean score of pre-test and post-test.The pre-test's mean score is 49.72 and the post-test's mean score is 78.48 in thefirst cycle and in the second cycle 58.2 for pre-test average and 82.28 for post-testaverage.
