Abstract

This study analyzed about the correlation of the teacher's competencein classroom management toward students' English achievement. Theobjectives of study are to find out the profile of English teacher's competence inclassroom management, to find out the level of students' English achievement,and to find out whether there! is any positive and significant correlation betweenEnglish teacher's competence and students' English achievement. The subjectsof the research are the second year students of SMK Al Falah Salatiga, Themethodology of this study is descriptive quantitative. In this research the writerused questionnaire, documentation and test to collect the data. From theresearch showed that the profile of English teacher's competence in classroommanagement is 31, 25% (high), 46, 87% (average), and 21, 87% (low). Thelevel of students' English achievement are 37. 5% (high), 34, 37% (average),and 28, 12% (low), and there is pc sitive and significant correlation betweenEnglish teacher's competence in classroom management and students' Englishachievement bcca rse rh higher than rt (rh is 0, 428 >rt is 0, 279).
