Abstract

This research is a study about the use of scrabble in English teaching toimprove vocabulary mastery. This research attempts to find out whether scrabblecan improve the students' interest to English teaching and to find out scrabble canimprove the vocabulary mastery. The subjects of the research are the second yearstudents of MTs N l Kaliangkrik, Magelang. The researcher uses a classroomaction research as a method in this research. The researcher also uses pre-test andpost-test in the teaching learning process. She uses two cycles. Each cyclecomprised of two meeting. Based on the findings of the research, the researcherfinds the result of t-table show 1,645. Then, it is compared with t-calculationwhich show in cycle I is - 0,025841 the score of pre-test, and- 0,114857 the scoreof post-test, the score of pre-test in cycle II is 0,0025841, and score of post-test is0,114857.
