Abstract

In this study, the writer chose the "Akeelah and the Bee" movie, inthis movie is chosen to be analyzed the important of moral values as a partof our life. There are four research problems proposed of the "Akeelah andthe Bee" movie: what are the intrinsic literature elements in this movie;what are moral values in this movie; how are moral values presented in themovie and what is the implication of the movie in relation to familyeducation. The methodology of this study is qualitative study; it is meansthat it does not need statistic approach to explore the material. Qualitativeresearch is a search of which the data written or oral words are descriptiveanalyzed. The primary data is scrip from the movie "Akeelah and theHee". The secondary data is taken from many literary books and somerelevant materials to support and complete the primary data sources. Theresult of this study is there are some moral values in the "Akeelan and theBee" movie like, Lo Ye and affection, Courage, Sacrifice, Optimism, Kindand friendly, Honesty, Sorry and Apologize.
