Abstract

Classroom action research is researchdesigned to help a teacher find out what is happening in her or his classroom andto use that information to make wise decisions for future. Classroom actionresearch is cycling processes. This research consists of three cycles. The writerand collaborator make wise decisions to use Audio-lingual method to improveinterest and achievement of students. The purposes of this research is to find outachievement before and after using Audio-lingual method, describe the interest ofthe students in teaching learning process using Audio lingual method. The objectthis research is second year students of MTs Tarqiyatul Himmah. They are consistof 37 students. This research intended to be qualitative and quantitative approach.The writer use observation and test. The writer use field note as an observation tofind out the students interest and motivation. And test used to find out studentsachievement The results show that the Audio-lingual method is one of thealternative methods to increase students' interest and achievement in learningEnglish. The result hopefully would motivate teacher to use the audio-lingualmethod in their classroom, especially when they teach speaking to the second yearstudents of Junior High School.
