Abstract

ABSTRAK Setiawan, Sifa Arif. 2019. A Comparative study of Three stay three stay and Jigsaw technique to Teach Writing Descriptive text (Experimental Research of the Second Grade Students of MTs AL- Muayyad III Tegowanu in Academic Year of 2019/2020) . A Graduating paper. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. English Education Department. State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) of Salatiga. Counselor: Dr. Ruwandi, S.P d., M.A. Keywords: Comparative study, TSTS, Jigsaw Technique, Teach writing, Descriptive text. The aims of this research were (1) To know the difference of descriptive text mastery of the students taught by Three stay three stray technique and those taught by Jigsaw technique of the second grade students of MTs Al-Muayyad III Tegowanu in the academic year of 2019/2020, and (2) To know the significant difference of descriptive text mastery of the students taught by Three stay three stray technique and those taught by Jigsaw technique of the second grade students MTs Al-Muayyad III Tegowanu in the academic year of 2019/2020. This was a quantitative research . The data collection method was written test. The collected data was analyzed statistically by using SPSS 16.0. The findings of this research were (1)There was no different between experimental and comparison groups before TSTS and Jigsaw technique were applied because MA > MB (72.08 > 71.33). In addition, there was also no different between experimental and comparison groups after TSTS and Jigsaw technique were applied because MA > MB (75.00>73.71) (2) There was no significant different between experimental and comparison groups before TSTS and Jigsaw strategies were applied because to < tt (0.494<1,713). Similarity, there was no significant between experimental and comparison groups because after TSTS and Jigsaw technique were applied to < tt (0.365<2.026).
