Abstract

ABSTRACT Sukesih, Latifah Diah. 2020. The Impact Of Structured Dyadic Method On Students’s Reading Comprehension In Report Text (An Experimantal Study At The Ninth Grade Of SMP N 2 Tengaran In The Academic Year Of 2019/2020. A Graduating Paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies of Salatiga. Counselor: Noor Malihah, M. Hum,.Ph.D. This study deals with the effectiveness of teaching reading report text by using the structured dyadic method by at the Ninth Grade Of SMP N 2 Tengaran In The Academic Year Of 2019/2020. The objective of the study was to find out the significant positive effectiveness of the students reading report text who are taught and not taught by the Structured Dyadic Method (SDM). This research was true experimental research and applied random sampling technique, with the total number of the sample was 56 students chosen through random sampling technique and classified into two classes; experiment and control class. The data of this study was taken from using pre-test and post-test by a score of questions. The data of pre-test and post-test were analyzed by using ttest. At the end this study, the researcher took conclusion as follows: after analyzing data, (1) The students’ skills in reading report text who was taught by using the Structured Dyadic Method (SDM) .that the average of the score was 82,06 with the highest score was 90 and the lowest scores was 60. and not using that method showed the average of the score was 74,62 with the highest score was 85 and the lowest score was 55. There is a difference Mb (82,06)> Ma (74,62), it showed that the teaching-learning activity by using the Structured Dyadic Method (SDM) the students’ skill in reading report text than not using that method. (2) From the result research, it can be concluded that the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted because the p-value (0.023) is less than sig ? = 0.025 (25%). It also means that there is a statistical significance in the experimental class It showed that the hypothesis which the researcher proposed that there was a significant difference in using the Structured Dyadic Method (SDM) reading strategy toward students’ reading skills in reading report text was acceptable. There is a significant difference between ttest (2.334 ) > ttable (0.2181). It showed that ttest was in null hypothesis rejection (Ho). Thus, an alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Its mean that the alternative hypothesis proposed by the researcher that there was a significant difference is accepted. Key Words: Reading, Report Text, Structured Dyadic Metho
