Abstract

Muyasaroh, Siti. 2020. An Analysis of Students’ Perceptions the Use Social Media to Improve Students’ English Writing Skill in Tenth Class of SMK Pembangunan Ampel in the Academic Year 2020/2021. A graduating paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies of Salatiga. Counselor: Dr. Setia Rini, M.Pd. The purpose of this study was to determine perceptions about the use of social media to improve students' writing skills. And how social media can support students in improving students' writing skills. This research is a qualitative research. Data collection was carried out by means of a questionnaire. The participants were 10th grade students at the SMK Pembangunan Ampel. 17 students became respondents. The results of the study stated that students had a positive perception of the use of social media in improving writing skills. They think that social media is helpful, easy, fun and gives new nuances in learning, social also provides interesting and accessible features. Social media can also support their learning process. Social media also has obstacles such as difficulties in implementing learning and problem access. So that social media can be used to improve students' writing skills.
