An Analysis Of Using Participation Point System To Teach Structure 4 At The Fourth Semester Students In English Education Departement Of State Institute For Islamic Studies (Iain Salatiga). State Institute for Islamic Studies of Salatiga. Counselor: Dra. Widyastuti, M. Pd. Student’s participation is important part in learning process. Active participation is a must for student to achiecve the goal of learning process. The researcher choose Structure 4 to describe this research, because structure has important thing in English learning. In the fact, there are many passive students in learning structure or grammar. Student’s passivity may be due to lack of motivation in the class. One of ways to motivate the students is by give participation scores. Based on the lecturer, this method namely Participation Point System. The researcher conducted this research to analyze the using of Participation Point System to teach structure 4 at the fourth semester students in English Education Department of State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga in the academic year 2019/2020. The researcher used descriptive qualitative design because it is the appropriate approach. In collecting the data, the research used method of online classroom observation, interview, and documentation. Based on the result of the research, the lecturer giving participation point system to the students who active in the learning process by raise their hand. Every students have same opportunity to enrich their participation scores. Participation scores fairly sizeablefor final score that combine with assessment score. Implementation PPS in teaching structure 4 got positive responses from the students. By implementing PPS minimize the students skip enter the class and the students final score was good enough.
