Abstract

The objectives of the research are: (1) to find out IAIN Salatiga students’ perceptions on the use of online learning during COVID-19. (2) To know students’ strategies during the implementation of online learning. This research methodology is qualitative research. This study uses research data collection techniques in the following ways: questionnaire method and interview method. From the results of online learning research, it cannot be used as much as possible in learning English and cannot live long. I take this conclusion because online learning in Indonesia is the first time, from the results of my research, online learning is less effective for use in learning English. If media like this is used continuously without meeting students directly with the teacher, there will be a lack of understanding in learning. Not only that, Indonesia is very large and will be constrained by signals because every application requires a strong connection, some live in urban and rural areas whose signals are less accessible will make learning online difficult.
