Abstract

Zam Zam, Ahmad Zafry,. 2021, “A Correlative Study of Students’ Learning Motivation toward Their Vocabulary Mastery on the Third Semester Students of English Education Department of IAIN Salatiga in the Academic Year 2020/2021”. A Graduating paper. Salatiga: English Education Department of Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga 2020. The purposed of this research are to find out the 1) significant correlation and 2) contribution of students’ learning motivation toward vocabulary mastery on the third semester students of English Education Department of IAIN Salatiga in the academic year 2020/2021. This is correlational quantitative approach. The technique of collecting data is questionnaire of learning motivation and teachers’ document of vocabulary mastery. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 20.0 version. The result of the analysis showed that 1) There is a significant correlation between learning motivation and vocabulary mastery because the R count value is higher than the R table value (r count = 0.602 > r table = 0.4357). 2) There is a significant contribution between learning motivation and vocabulary mastery because the T count value is higher than the T table (that t count = 4.128 > 2.042 t table) or the T significance value is lower than the table significance value (0.00 < 0.05). The contribution of learning motivation toward vocabulary mastery is 36.2%, and the other is influenced by factors outside of motivation.
