Abstract

These objectives of the research were: (1) to find out the profile the students’ speaking skill taught by Charade Game and Talking Stick Game and (2) to find out significance difference of the students’ speaking skill before and after teaching speaking skill using Charade Game and Talking Stick Game. This was quantitative research with quasi experimental. The technique of collecting data was tests and documentation. The collected data was analyzed statistically by using SPSS 16.0. The findings of this research were (1) The students’ profile were different before and after implementing Charade Game and Talking Stick Game. The mean of Charade Game class’s pre-test was 51.46 while the mean of post-test was 81.73. The difference between pre- and post-test mean was 30.27. The mean of Talking Stick Game class’s pre-test was 51.26 while the mean of post-test was 83.73. The difference between pre- and post-test mean was 32.47. (2) Charade Game showed that to11.058 was higher than t-table (tt) 2.0452 with df of 58. Talking Stick Game showed that to10.475 was higher than t-table (tt) 2.0452 with df 58. Thus, it can be concluded that Charade Game and Talking Stick Game provean improvement result in learning and teaching speaking skill.
