Abstract

ABSTRACT Dwiairisa, Nurma. 2019. “AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS DEVELOPMENT IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING AUTONOMY IN THE BAHASODOTCOM PLATFORM”. A Graduating Paper. English Education Department. teacher Training and Education Faculty. State institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Hammam, Ph.D. This research focuses on autonomous language learning by students who follow bahasodotcom on their instagram account. This research aims to answer the following research questions: (1) How bahasodotcom helps students to be an autonomous language learner? (2) In what language aspects bahasodotcom can help students to improve their English competence?. The data source of this research are the telephone interview answers and opened questionnaire answers. At the end, the researcher draws the conclusion which is in a accordance with the research finding. The result of this research show that (1) Bahasodotcom helps students who follow to learn English independently by reading, and trying to answer the exercises, quizzes (bahaso before bed, test yourself, find the words), posts, and instastory of bahasodotcom. (2) Bahasodotcom helps students who follow bahasodotcom in improving their English language aspect especially in increasing their competence in vocabulary and new idiomatic expression from bahasodotcom content. Most of them stated that bahasodotcom helps them to increase their new vocabulary. Keywords: Autonomous Language Learning, Language Learning, Language Aspect, Instagram, Bahasodotcom.
