English Education Department.Teacher Training and Educational Faculty.State Institute for Islamic Studies of Salatiga. Counselor: Hammam, S.Pd.,M.Pd., Ph.D. This research is about language and learning media that focused on English learners’ perception of IAIN SAlatiga on the use of colored words and letters in grammar books based on the English learners’ experience in the grammar learning process.The subjects were five English Department students at the State Institute for Islamic Study of Salatiga. This study aims to determine learners' perceptions about the use of colored words and letters in grammar books, the role of colored words and letters in grammar books based on learners' experiences, and the most effective colors to support English learning by using qualitative research. Data collected through interviews. This research found that the use of color or colored words and letters as a learning support media is very effective. The use of colored words and letters in grammar books has many roles. Colored writings in grammar books can help learners to be more focused, can help in remembering material, changing learner's moods, etc., and known also that the most effective color is red which has more advantages than other colors in terms of physical and influence. The use of colored words and letters in grammar books can provide many changes by facilitating learners to more easily understand the material being studied, remembering material that has been studied, and changing the mood of English learners on a human basis are visual creatures.
